Features & Capabilities

One swing. One fix. At a time.

Most golf apps hand a beginner a wall of numbers and leave them to work out which one matters. Albie does the opposite. Film one swing, and it tells you the single thing to work on next, in plain language, out loud.

How it works

  1. Stand your phone on a tripod a few steps away, facing you.
  2. Film one swing, or import one you already filmed.
  3. Albie measures the swing, picks the one thing holding it back, and says it out loud while you are still holding the club.

What Albie can spot

Albie reads your body through the whole swing and looks for eight things that change where the ball goes:

• Hips sliding sideways going back, instead of turning • Leaning toward the target at the top, instead of away from it • A left arm that folds on the way back and shortens the swing • Standing taller through the ball, instead of staying bent over it • Hips pushing at the target through impact, instead of turning • Shoulders dipping too far under the ball • A hurried backswing with no time to change direction • A downswing with no speed left in it

You get one of them. The one that matters most, with something to feel and a drill to practice it.

Your video never leaves your phone

Albie analyzes the video on your device and deletes it straight afterwards. No account, no history, and the video is never uploaded.

Albie does send the measurements from each swing, about thirty numbers, so its advice keeps getting better on real swings. That part is anonymous, it is not linked to you, and you can switch it off in settings.

What you need

A phone that stands up on its own, a few steps of space, and somewhere to swing. Albie needs to see you head to feet, face-on, with the camera about hip height and level. It will tell you when the framing is wrong rather than guessing.

What Albie is not

Albie is a practice companion. It does not replace time with a PGA professional, and it will not tell you it is one. It reads one swing and gives you one thing to take into the next.

Where the benchmarks come from

Most of the lines Albie draws between fine and worth fixing come from CaddieSet, a published dataset of real swings paired with ball flight (Jung et al., CVPR 2025). The rest are set by hand and checked against filmed swings.
