Stacks: Hours in Stone

Start the timer, study, then place the hour yourself. Each one becomes a layer in one stone that records the term. Weekly and per-subject totals. No streaks, no badges.

Stacks is a study timer that turns the hours you record into one stone.

Every session you finish becomes a layer. The newest hour sits on top at full size; the layers under it compress and darken, the way sediment does. Nothing you record is removed, and there is no streak to keep alive.

RECORDING Start the timer and work. The time is measured from the moment you began, not by an app that has to stay awake, so it keeps counting when you leave Stacks, lock the phone, or close the app. While a session runs it sits on your Lock Screen as a Live Activity, and you can pause it from there.

When you stop, you place the hour yourself: press and hold until the layer settles. Nothing is added for you.

If you forget to start the timer, you can write the hour in by hand, and correct one that ran too long.

READING

• The week as solid columns, one colour per subject

There is no account, no advertising, no analytics and nothing social. Your hours stay on your device, and in your own iCloud if you turn sync on.
