Familiar shows you what's actually happening around you — and gives you a reason to go.

START SOMETHING Anyone can start a group. Pick a real place, say when it meets, write a line about it — your town can find it from there. Keep it open to everyone, or approve each person who asks to join. Every group gets a private board where members sort out the details: who's bringing what, who's running late, where everyone's meeting.

SEE YOUR TOWN A map of the groups meeting near you, and the places your own week actually takes you. No feed to scroll. No follower counts. Nothing to perform.

FAMILIAR FACES Here's the part no other groups app can do. Familiar quietly notices the places your daily path takes you — the coffee shop, the gym, the same morning walk — so when you're looking at a group, it can tell you that you've already crossed paths with people in it. Not strangers from the internet. People your real life already puts in front of you.

BUILT FOR REAL LIFE, NOT SCREEN TIME • Your exact location is never shown to anyone — only place names • Crossings appear on a delay and never in real time, so the app can never be used to see where someone is right now • Background detection is optional, off by default, one switch to turn off • Report and block on every profile, every group, every post • 18+ only
