Survival's five scenes are free. Speak, get a score and a corrected sentence, and find out what a Thai person would actually have said.
Most Thai apps teach you words. This one makes you use them.
Pick a scene — ordering at a street stall, arguing with a landlord about a broken air-con, explaining a delay to your boss — and start talking. The app plays the other person in that scene, in character, and answers in Thai the way a real Thai person would. Then it grades what you said.
EVERY LINE YOU SAY COMES BACK WITH THREE THINGS
• A score out of 100
• Your sentence, corrected
• A note on what changed — a missing ครับ or ค่ะ, the wrong pronoun, a register too formal for a market stall
That is the whole loop. Say something, find out how it landed, say it better.
35 SCENES ACROSS SIX LEVELS
Survival — street food, taxis, the 7-Eleven counter, introducing yourself, prices and numbers
Daily life — fresh markets, coffee your way, the pharmacy, the condo guard, booking a massage
Being social — a friend's friend, weekend plans, dinner for the table, the family questions every Thai person will ask you
Getting things done — the doctor, immigration, opening a bank account, a landlord in no hurry, a minor traffic incident
At work — introducing yourself in a meeting, explaining bad news to a senior person, negotiating with a supplier, disagreeing without losing face
Advanced — defending an opinion, telling a long story, slang and teasing, a difficult emotional conversation, regional flavour
SPEAK OR TYPE
Talk and the app transcribes your Thai. Or type it, if you are somewhere you cannot speak. Both are graded the same way. Every Thai line the character says can be played aloud, so you hear it before you try it yourself.
ครับ OR ค่ะ
Thai politeness particles agree with the speaker, not the listener — so an app that guesses will teach half its users the wrong ones. Tell it which you use, and every correction follows it.
WHAT THE SCORE ACTUALLY MEASURES
Word choice, grammar, particles and register: whether what you said was the right thing to say, phrased the way a Thai person would phrase it. It does not score pronunciation. Your speech is transcribed to text, and the text is what gets graded — the app never analyses your audio.
FREE, AND WHAT ISN'T
Survival's five scenes are free and stay free. The other thirty — markets, pharmacies, landlords, meetings, arguments — come with a subscription, with a fair-use ceiling of 400 practice turns a month, around 30 full scenes.
No account. No sign-up. No ads. Nothing to create before you start talking.
Subscriptions renew monthly until cancelled, and can be managed or cancelled in Settings › Apple Account › Subscriptions.
