BigDayToday is the AI-powered life-history journal — a memoir that writes itself. Just type it, or say it, the way you'd tell a friend: "I drove that old pickup all through college." No forms, no dropdown menus. The AI pulls out the relevant details from your text and stores them in a simple, private format on your device. Then it gets curious and starts asking leading questions the way a good interviewer would, drawing out the memories you would never think to write down. Come back later and the AI reverses the process. It turns those bare facts back into genuinely meaningful prose describing that chapter of your life — all driven by a configurable "mood" (i.e. funny, nostalgic, dramatic, etc.) that you can specify. Your entries land on parallel timeline threads automatically — Home, Career, Education, Vacations, Health, and more — each one a storyline of your life. Pan through the decades, pinch to zoom, and watch the shape of your life emerge: overlapping chapters, gaps, and all. To generate prose and follow-up questions, the text of an entry is sent securely to our AI provider (Anthropic) and is not used to train their models. Everything else stays with you. GETTING THE AI The AI features run on Anthropic's Claude and use an API key. New users can request a free setup key at bigdaytoday.app, or add their own Anthropic key in the app. The timeline, threads, and journaling all work with or without AI.
