Privacy first: picking, layout and rendering all happen on your iPhone. No account, no ads, no third-party SDKs, no data collection. iCloud sync is off by default; turn it on and your profile and records go to your own iCloud — we have no server and cannot see them. Place names are resolved from coordinates via Apple system services only. Your photos never leave your library.
