Features & Capabilities

Your walks, stairs and workouts become real altitude on Everest — Base Camp to 8,848 m. No streaks, no guilt, no subscription. Your health data never leaves your iPhone.

Climb Mount Everest with the steps you already take.

Not a progress bar dressed up as scenery — an illustrated Everest that relights itself from dawn to midnight, drifts with slow high-altitude cloud, tilts with your phone, and holds your climber at the exact point on the route your body has earned.

Everest is completely free. No ads, no subscriptions, no in-app purchases.

Acclimb turns your real Apple Health activity into a faithful expedition up Everest. Every flight of stairs, every walk, run, hike and workout becomes vertical meters and distance along the real South Col route — from Base Camp to the summit at 8,848 m.

WHAT YOU GET

• A living Everest scene — sun-following sky, drifting cloud, parallax that answers to your hand • Your route, traced — Base Camp, Camp I–IV, the Balcony, the South Summit, the Hillary Step • Per-workout credit — see exactly how much that morning hike moved you up the face • Everyday stairs, counted — the flights you climb without thinking about it • Camp cinematics — reach a camp and the camera moves, with a keepsake milestone card • Route briefings and landmark cards — the 1953 first ascent, the Khumbu Icefall, the Death Zone • Real metrics — summit ETA, 7-day trend, momentum and a daily progress chart, metric or imperial • A permanent Summit Log — every summit you reach is kept forever • Share cards — rendered entirely on your device, framing the exact camp you reached • An optional Game Center leaderboard for highest altitude reached — off unless you turn it on

HOW IT WORKS

Real vertical counts most. Stairs and genuinely uphill workouts earn full value plus a climbing bonus, so a hilly hike always beats an hour on flat ground.

Everything else still counts. Flat and indoor effort — a treadmill run, a spin class, a long city walk — is converted from active energy into equivalent meters and then discounted, so it moves you without ever rivaling a real climb.

You have to cover the ground too. Progress runs on two budgets, distance and height, and you stand at the furthest point where both are satisfied. No stair-climbing your way to the summit.

And you can always see the math. A "What moves you up the mountain" view is one tap away and shows exactly how every number was produced. No black box.

NO STREAKS, NO GUILT

There are no streaks to lose, no fail states, no red rings. Progress only ever moves forward. Take a week off and the mountain simply waits for you — a rest day is a rest day, and Acclimb will never tell you otherwise. There is no manual "add progress" button either: your body is the only input. Turn on Reduce Motion and Acclimb honors it: the tilt-parallax stops dead and the sky settles almost perfectly still.

YOUR HEALTH DATA STAYS YOURS

Acclimb reads from Apple Health with your explicit, per-type permission, and it never writes back. There is no backend, no account to create and no analytics. Only your derived progress — your altitude and your position on the route — syncs to your own private iCloud, which only you can read. Nothing is sold, shared or used for advertising. Acclimb is declared to Apple as "Data Not Collected."

The whole experience works offline. The mountain does not need a signal.

Requires iOS 26 and an iPhone. Apple Health access is optional, and Acclimb needs it to move you up the mountain.

Acclimb is a wellness companion and a game about your movement — it is not a medical device. It does not diagnose, treat or interpret anything, and it makes no medical claims. The activity figures it shows are neutral mirrors of your own Apple Health numbers. For anything medical, consult a qualified professional.
