Meditation, sutras & chanting
Fully offline and private by design. No account, no ads, no tracking — just daily practice.
BodhiDaily is a calm, privacy-first companion for Buddhist practice and meditation. It works fully offline, keeps everything on your device, and asks nothing of you — no account, no login, no ads, no tracking.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Practice Times scheduler — set your own daily practice reminders and receive gentle local notifications. Practice Times are personal, user-chosen reminders, not mandatory prayer times.
• Meditation timer — a simple, distraction-free timer for sitting practice, with a record of the sessions you complete.
• Chanting counter — a digital mala-style counter for chanting and recitation, keeping count without watching a screen.
• Teachings reader — read meditation and mindfulness material, save bookmarks, and pick up where you left off.
• Moon-phase calendar — see astronomical moon phases alongside region-aware observance notes.
• Temple finder — search for temples near you; your location is used only to open your device's map app.
PRIVACY-FIRST BY DESIGN
• No account and no login.
• No ads and no advertising SDK.
• No analytics collected — nothing about your use is gathered or uploaded.
• All your data (settings, schedules, sessions, reading progress, bookmarks, downloaded audio) stays on your device. There is no backend server.
• Optional permissions are requested only in context, after we explain why:
– Notifications for local reminders (uses inexact scheduling to save battery; no exact-alarm permission).
– Location, only when you tap to find temples nearby — used momentarily to open a map, never stored or transmitted.
– Internet, only if you choose to download optional audio. Core features work fully offline.
• You control your data: export everything to a JSON file, import a backup (with confirmation before overwrite), hide your progress, or permanently delete all data.
CONTENT YOU CAN TRUST
Content is clearly labelled as either canonical or editorial. Canonical passages come from recognised scriptures in a specific, attributed translation — for example, verses from the Dhammapada in F. Max Müller's public-domain 1881 translation. Editorial material is original writing created for the app and is never presented as scripture. Observance dates vary by country, temple, lunar calendar, and tradition; the app shows astronomy and observances separately and does not claim to be a religious authority.

It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and is not a substitute for professional care. If you are unwell or in crisis, please contact a qualified professional or your local emergency services.
