Idea Compass is a place to capture ideas the moment they happen — by voice or by typing — without breaking stride to tag or file anything.

Every entry becomes a Moment: a timestamp, a place, and a note on what you were doing when the thought struck. Actions you later take on an idea get logged the same way, so each idea slowly grows its own timeline instead of disappearing into a pile of notes.

CAPTURE WITHOUT FRICTION • Voice or text, whenever a thought lands • Siri & Shortcuts — "Hey Siri, add an idea to Idea Compass" — hands-full, phone-locked, no need to even open the app • Lock-screen and home-screen widgets for a one-tap jot • A quiet nudge back — a local reminder about ideas you worked on, then let go quiet for a couple of weeks (scheduled entirely on-device, nothing sent anywhere)

LOOK BACK AT WHAT'S ACCUMULATED • Idea Evolution — ideas relate to each other as living things, not flat links: one idea can be Inspired By, Split Into, Merged Into, a Prototype Of, or a Successor Of another. Those relationships render as a lineage diagram — a family tree on a time axis showing how one tiny thought branched and merged into several projects over months or years • Life Chapters — reads your whole journal like a life story and proposes autobiographical chapters ("University," "First Startup," "Moving Cities"), shown as an interactive timeline • Idea graph & replay — a living map of how ideas connect, and a replay that plays the whole web back in the order you captured it • Map View — every geotagged idea plotted where it happened, with playback that animates each idea's journey across places over time • Weekly Reflection — a magazine-style weekly digest of what you captured, including which ideas gained momentum and which lost it • Shareable journey cards — turn any idea's story into a small, self-contained card worth sending to a friend • Send to Reminders — a one-way export of any idea or moment into Apple Reminders, for the moment you actually want to act on one. Idea Compass itself stays narrative and status-free: no due dates, no "done" states

ON THE AI The AI runs on-device by default using Apple Intelligence — free, private, nothing leaves your phone. You can also point it at the Claude API with your own key for heavier, whole-journal features, or run a hybrid of the two — your choice, in Settings. Either way, every AI suggestion is something you confirm rather than something applied automatically.
