Somewhere in your house there's a bottle you meant to open two years ago. Racked is a cellar book for people who actually drink what they buy — it keeps track of what you own, where you put it, and when each bottle wants opening.

START BY PHOTOGRAPHING THE LABEL Point your camera at a bottle. Racked reads the label and matches it against a reference of more than 205,000 wines and spirits, then fills in the producer, region and vintage for you. All of it happens on your device — no account, no upload, and no connection required. When your bottle is in the reference, adding it takes seconds.

AND WHEN IT ISN'T IN THE BOOK Racked still reads what it can from the label, and then makes typing the rest as light as possible: every field suggests as you go, drawing on both the reference and the bottles you've already added. Enter a producer once and it's waiting for you the next time. The obscure ones are exactly why the manual path got as much care as the camera did.

KNOW WHERE EVERY BOTTLE IS Build your cellars, fridges, racks and boxes the way they're really laid out, down to the row and slot. Then ask where something is and Racked tells you the shelf.

KEEP COUNT WITHOUT COUNTING Racked always knows how many bottles you have, of what, and where they're split across your locations. Drink one and log it in a tap; the count and your tasting history look after themselves.

OPEN IT AT THE RIGHT MOMENT Every wine gets a drinking window. Racked shows you what's ready now, what's still coming along, and — the useful one — what's closing soon and should be opened this month. Nothing quietly goes past its best while you forget it's in there.

TAKE IT TO WINE COUNTRY A map of more than 155,000 wineries: see who's pouring near you, save the ones worth the drive, and plan the weekend as a trip — day by day, stop by stop. Check in when you're there; your notes and photos become a winery journal, and a finished trip keeps it all as a memory. Any winery's page shows what's already in your cellar from it.

PLAN IT TOGETHER Share a trip the way you share a cellar: everyone sees the same stops, adds check-ins, notes and photos, and the plan stays in sync through iCloud.

ASK YOUR SOMMELIER Tell Racked what you're cooking and it recommends a bottle you already own, never one you don't, and explains why that pairing works. Ask it what to bring to dinner, what a wine will taste like, how to write a tasting note, or what to buy someone as a gift. It answers about your collection, because it can see your collection.

Pairing also works without Apple Intelligence: Racked carries real wine reference data for its grape varieties, so any device can get a considered recommendation and the reasoning behind it.

JUST ASK SIRI "What's ready to drink?" "Where is the Barolo?" "How many bottles do I have?" Ten shortcuts answer out loud, most without opening the app. On iOS 27 they get considerably smarter, and on a recent iPhone the sommelier reasons with Apple's larger models rather than a small one — the same questions, better answers.

SHARE A CELLAR Share a location with your partner or a friend and you both see the same bottles, kept in sync.
