Kids read, explain what they read to an AI reading buddy, and bank real screen time. Parents see exactly what their kid understood — not just that they scrolled a page.
ReadBank turns reading into the thing your kid actually wants to do — because it's the only way to earn screen time.
Two ways to read, one place to track it ReadBank Classics is a growing free library of real public-domain novels — Alice in Wonderland, Anne of Green Gables, Treasure Island, and dozens more — read right inside the app, no waiting on a parent to add anything. Already own the physical book? Add it as an "In Person" book instead and ReadBank just times the reading; everything still counts toward the same streak and the same Screen Time Bank.
A comprehension check for every book After reading, your child talks it over with their AI reading buddy. Real ReadBank Classics books use quick tap-to-answer questions grounded in that exact chapter — friendly for younger readers, and unlimited on every plan, free included. Books read outside the app get a real back-and-forth conversation instead, since there's no in-app text to check comprehension against directly — the AI asks, your child explains in their own words, and it grades how well they actually understood what they read.
Screen Time Bank Earned minutes bank up over time instead of resetting daily, with a configurable ratio (e.g. 20 minutes read = 30 minutes earned) parents fully control. Kids can save up for a big weekend, or spend as they go.
A reading buddy that grows with them Kids unlock new companion animals and accessories by spending the XP they earn from passing reading checks — never by spending real money. Streaks (with a weekly at-a-glance dot tracker), levels, and badges keep the motivation going between books.
Real oversight, not a black box Parents get a full history of every comprehension check and can approve or send back any check that needs a second look. For older kids doing free-response checks, that means the actual question, the actual answer, and the AI's grading notes — nothing pays out without a parent being able to see exactly why. Parents can also switch a child from tap-to-answer to full free-response checks on ReadBank Classics once they're ready to type out real answers.
Built for families, not just one device Set up once as the parent, then let your child use their own device (linked by a QR code, no passwords) or a shared family device with a PIN. Screen time balances, reading history, and rewards all sync across every device in the family.
Free to start One child profile, the full ReadBank Classics library, and unlimited comprehension checks on it — genuinely free, no card required. ReadBank Premium adds more child profiles, checks on books read outside the app, detailed reading insights (understanding trends over time, which books were hardest), AI-personalized book recommendations, and more buddy customization.
Privacy first No ads are ever shown to your child — only to parents on the free plan, and never used to personalize or track. Your family's reading data is never sold. Full details in our Privacy Policy.
