Parfokal is an open gate cinema camera for iPhone.

It records only the full-height sensor formats your iPhone can produce, keeping the whole frame rather than a widescreen slice of it. That leaves you more picture to reframe, stabilize and punch into once you are in the edit. Widescreen crop formats are intentionally excluded.

Colour is developed from full-resolution raw sensor frames, not taken from the phone's video processing. That is why Parfokal can record Log on iPhones that were never given Apple Log, and why the colour is built from your own iPhone's sensor calibration rather than an approximation of it.

Choose from 20 colour profiles. Rec.709 is ready to watch as it is. Apple Log, Apple Log 2, ARRI LogC3 and LogC4, Sony S-Log2 and S-Log3, Canon C-Log, C-Log2 and C-Log3, Panasonic V-Log, RED Log3G10, Fujifilm F-Log and F-Log2, Nikon N-Log, DJI D-Log, Blackmagic Film Gen 5, Cineon, ACEScc and ACEScct are there for grading, and for matching footage you already shot on those cameras.

Control focus, exposure, white balance, ISO and shutter speed by hand, or tap the image to focus and expose on a spot and hold to lock it there. Record in HEVC, HEVC 4:4:4 or ProRes 422 HQ, and load your own .cube LUTs.

A LUT can sit in the viewfinder only, leaving the recorded file clean for grading, or be built permanently into the clip. Flat and Look let you switch between the two so you always know which one you are looking at.

Parfokal records at 24 fps. Camera formats, colour profiles and recording options vary by iPhone model and by lens. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is collected, and your footage stays on your device.
