Geoly: KML KMZ Viewer

Got a KML or KMZ file your iPhone won't open? Geoly shows KML, KMZ and GeoJSON map files on a real map — the places, routes and boundaries inside, right on your iPhone.

Open a file from the Files app, or send it to Geoly from Mail, Messages or another app with "Open in". The map zooms to fit everything in the file, with a list of every feature underneath.

• KML, KMZ AND GEOJSON — plain KML, zipped KMZ archives and GeoJSON (.geojson) files, including shapes grouped in MultiGeometry and multi-part GeoJSON. • POINTS, PATHS AND AREAS — placemarks become pins, LineStrings become routes, and Polygons become shaded areas. • FEATURE LIST — see how many points, paths and areas the file holds, and tap any feature in the list to highlight it and centre the map on it. • PINS WITH NAMES — tap a pin to see the placemark's name. • SHARE THE FILE — send the original KML, KMZ or GeoJSON on by AirDrop, Mail, Messages or to Files.

Honest scope: Geoly is a viewer. It does not edit files or convert between formats, and it draws every feature in its own colours rather than the file's styles and custom icons. Polygon holes, image overlays and network links are not shown. Files can be up to 40 MB; very dense files are trimmed to the first 150,000 coordinates.

Your file is read on your iPhone and is never uploaded. The background map comes from Apple Maps, so map tiles need an internet connection. No account needed.
