Save the places you go often — home, school, work. Pinly tells you when family members arrive or leave. Save a place once and it's shared with everyone, so nobody has to set it up twice.

Get notified when someone goes farther than the distance you set. Set a different distance for each family member, or turn it off entirely.

■ Location history

Look back at where they've been today, right on the map. Stops, routes, and active time are summarized automatically.

■ Emergency SOS

One tap sends an alert to everyone in the family. Their location and battery level go with it, so help can start right away.

■ Low battery alerts

Know when a family member's phone is running low — before you lose touch.

■ You decide who sees you

Pinly is not a tracking app. Turn your location on or off for each family member individually. Hide from someone and they simply can't see where you are.

You can also check, inside the app, when and with how many people your location was shared.
