Beavo is the pregnancy app for the person holding her hand.

Written from NHS guidance, for fathers and birth partners in the UK. It works offline, because the moment you need it most may be a hospital car park at 2 AM.

KNOW WHAT IS HAPPENING Clear, visual guides on pregnancy, labour, pain relief, caesarean birth, recovery, feeding, safer sleep and wellbeing after birth. Written in plain language, with the NHS page linked for the full detail.

KNOW WHAT TO DO Short quizzes, branching decision scenarios and a 100-question drill. Practise the call to the maternity unit before you have to make it, and learn when something is worth ringing about tonight rather than in the morning.

THE WEEK, AND WHAT IT MEANS Week-by-week growth, and the NHS appointment that is coming up with what actually happens at it. The 20-week scan is the anomaly scan. Nobody tells the partner that.

TOOLS FOR THE REAL DAY A contraction timer that writes the sentences you read down the phone. A hospital bag list with a section for you, which most checklists forget. Appointments that sync to your own calendar. A breathing rhythm for the waiting.

THE FIRST WEEKS Track sleep, feeds and nappies with no targets and nothing that can be failed. Counted against NHS guidance for your baby's age, and only a completed day is measured. There are no feeding reminders — the NHS asks you to feed when the baby asks, not when an app does.

BEREAVEMENT SUPPORT If you lose your baby, Beavo does not carry on counting. One switch takes the whole app quiet, down to the home-screen icon, and nothing you have saved is deleted. A private section offers established UK bereavement charities, guidance written for the partner rather than about him, and a message you can send to family without having to write it. This part is free for everyone and always will be.
