Somewhere in a sun-dappled park there is a pond, and the pond has ducks, and the ducks have plans.

Duck Duck Bread is a cozy idle game about feeding ducks until the situation escalates. It begins with you flicking crumbs at a pond. It ends with an orbital bread the size of a small moon. The ducks consider this a normal career arc.

Tap the Big Loaf. It squashes. Crumbs fly. Ducks approve. Then hire your first employee — a Rubber Ducky that doesn't eat, doesn't swim, and squeaks encouragingly while crumbs somehow appear — and watch the counter move on its own. From there, the operation grows. You will not need a tutorial. The ducks are professionals.

THE FLOCK'S BUSINESS PLAN

• Flick crumbs at the Big Loaf. Fill the Surge meter. Land the occasional critical flick. Feel the squash. • Build 12 generators in order of increasing seriousness: Rubber Ducky, Duckling Patrol, Mallard With A Little Hat (the hat adds 40% productivity — this is documented), Bread Stand, Sourdough Pond, The Quack Exchange, Duckingham Palace, The Crumbernet, Air Fowl One, The Mother Loaf, and — for accomplished migrators — The Great Migration Fleet and the Embassy of Grain. • Catch the Golden Goose. Every few minutes it glides across the pond. Tap it for a windfall. It honks once, pays in gold, and leaves. Classic goose. • Sleep on the job. The Bread Basket keeps earning for up to 8 hours while the app is closed. Your 34 Mallards will keep their hats on all night. • Fly South for the Winter. When the pond slows, migrate. Return to a fresh spring with permanent Golden Feathers, and spend them on Migration Routes — pick your path, keep what matters, go faster forever. • Collect 24 Pond Postcards, each documenting a milestone with the gravity it deserves ("The ducks have unionized."). • Hats. Eight of them. They are cosmetic. The ducks wear them anyway. • Milestone multipliers, 38 upgrades, Synergy Links, achievements, and numbers with letters after them.

A NOTE ON MONEY (THE HUMAN KIND)

Everything in Duck Duck Bread can be earned by playing. Optional purchases exist — croutons (bread that got fancy), a starter basket, and one tasteful license that skips the bonus waits — but there are no forced ads, no interstitials, no fake countdowns, and nothing you must buy to reach the ending. The pond is honest. It is mostly water and ambition.
