MaskID: Protect Your Identity

Protect what you share. MaskID helps you prepare safer copies of documents, photos, IDs and PDFs before sending them to another person, company or service.

A landlord may need proof of identity, but not every number on your ID. A recruiter may need a certificate, but not your home address or signature. A bank, insurer, hotel or online service may request a document, but that does not mean every detail has to remain exposed.

MaskID gives you control before you tap Share.

HIDE SENSITIVE INFORMATION Cover any detail the recipient does not need. Draw and adjust masks manually, or use on-device OCR suggestions to help locate identity numbers, email addresses, phone numbers, IBANs and payment-card numbers. You decide what stays visible and what does not.

ADD PURPOSE-SPECIFIC WATERMARKS Mark the copy with its intended use before sending it. Add a custom watermark such as “For rental verification only”, a recipient name, a purpose or other context that makes the shared copy easier to identify and harder to reuse outside its intended purpose.

CREATE A SAFER COPY MaskID keeps your original separate from the protected copy you export. Protected PDF pages are rasterized and the exported PDF is checked for residual selectable text in masked regions, helping prevent hidden text from remaining underneath visual cover-ups.

REMOVE HIDDEN PHOTO DATA Supported image exports can remove sensitive EXIF and GPS metadata, reducing the amount of invisible information that travels with a photo.

FIND SENSITIVE DATA FASTER On-device OCR can suggest areas that may contain: • Identity and document numbers (passports, IDs, driver’s licenses) • Email addresses and phone numbers • IBANs and bank account details • Payment-card numbers
