Merge connects college students heading in the same direction. If you're driving home for break, post the trip you're already taking and fill your empty seats. If you need to get somewhere, find a student going there and split what the drive actually costs.

No surge pricing. No strangers. Just students getting where they're going.

STUDENTS ONLY Every account requires a verified .edu email from a participating school. You see who you're riding with before you book: their name, year, university, and rating.

FOR RIDERS Browse rides going your way. Pick your seat on the car map, so you know exactly where you're sitting and who's already on board. Book, pay in the app, and message your driver.

Seats are set by the driver, between $15 and $60 — usually a fraction of a bus ticket or a last-minute flight.

FOR DRIVERS You're making the drive anyway. Post where you're going, when you're leaving, and what a seat costs. Block off any seats you don't want filled. Get paid out to your bank after the ride.

Merge keeps 10%. You keep 90%.

HOW THE MONEY WORKS When a rider books, the fare is held — not paid out. Every rider gets a pickup code. Once they're actually in the car, they give the driver that code, and only then is the payment released.

No code, no charge. It protects riders from paying for a ride that never happened, and drivers from riders who don't show.

CANCELLATIONS Cancel more than 48 hours out and you're fully refunded. Cancel inside 48 hours and you get 70% back, with the rest going mostly to the driver whose seat sat empty.

RATE EACH OTHER After the ride, riders rate drivers and drivers rate riders. Ratings show on every profile, so the people who show up on time and drive well are easy to find.

BUILT FOR HOW STUDENTS ACTUALLY TRAVEL Breaks. Long weekends. The airport run. The trip to see someone at another school. These are drives students are already making alone, with three empty seats, while someone else pays for a bus.

Merge is not a taxi service and not a transportation company. We don't own cars or employ drivers. We connect students who are already going the same way.

Merge is for students 18 and older.
