Hall menus, allergens, ratings
Dishy shows what every dining hall and café on your campus is serving today, meal by meal, before you walk anywhere.
Menus come straight from your school's own dining service, so you are reading the same food the halls posted.
WHAT'S ON, AND WHERE
Pick one hall or look across the whole campus at once. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner and late night, for today or any other day your dining service has published. Dishy opens on the meal being served right now, read off the campus clock rather than your phone's.
EATING AROUND AN ALLERGY
Set your allergens once. A dish that contains one is flagged on the card before you tap it, and a dish that only shares equipment is called out separately as may contain traces. Filters for vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, halal and no beef narrow the whole day at once, across every hall and every meal, and each school offers the ones its dining service actually publishes.
THE SMALL PRINT, ON THE DISH
Open a dish for its ingredients, its allergens, its dietary tags and the nutrition facts your dining service published: calories, protein, carbs, fat and serving size. Nothing is estimated. Where the kitchen published no figure, Dishy shows none.
RATED BY THE PEOPLE WHO ATE IT
Students on your campus rate dishes, leave a note and photograph the plate. Every photo is looked at by a person before anyone else can see it, with nothing approved automatically. The first few notes you write are read before they appear; your rating counts straight away. Any review can be reported, and you can block whoever wrote it and manage a blocked list in Settings. Post under your name or anonymously.
SEARCH A WEEK, NOT A DAY
Look for a dish across the week ahead. Search survives a typo, understands cuisines and cravings, and badges a dish that is also served on another day.
THE CAMPUS, MAPPED
A full-screen map plots every hall and café, dims the ones that are closed, and opens hours and distance from a pin. Hand walking directions to your maps app when you have decided.
WIDGETS
See the halls that are currently open on the home screen, plus lock-screen widgets. Each one taps through to the right screen in the app.
MAKE IT YOURS
Save favorite dishes and halls. Choose a full-screen background in light or dark, give Dishy a home-screen app icon in your school's colors, solid or cream, and read menus as a list, a grid, a compact row, or one column per hall where the screen is wide enough.
WORKS WITH NO SIGNAL
The menus you already opened stay readable in a basement, with a bar that tells you when the data was last updated.
IPHONE AND IPAD
A real iPad layout, with a sidebar you can swipe and shortcuts straight to any station, not a stretched phone.
NO ACCOUNT TO READ
Browsing menus needs nothing at all. Posting a rating, a note or a photo needs your school email address and one six-digit code.
Dishy is free. No subscription, no in-app purchases, no ads. Favorites, filters and allergens stay on your device.
Campuses are added in batches. If yours is not on Dishy yet, search for it while setting the app up and it counts as a request; allow notifications and you get one message when your campus goes live.
Allergen information is a reading aid, not a medical guarantee. If a dish matters to your safety, still ask at the servery.
