Features & Capabilities

Nailmaker is a camera and photo editor built for one job: making nail work look great. If you've ever finished a fresh set, reached for the regular camera, and then spent ten minutes fighting the focus and fixing the color, this is the app that skips all of that.

It's made for nail techs and salons, by people who actually care how the work photographs. Where we're headed is simple — we want Nailmaker to be the app you reach for to shoot and edit your nails at a real studio level. This first version stays deliberately small. It does three things — shoot, do the basic edits, and add your watermark — and it does them well before we pile anything else on top.

SHOOT CLOSE-UPS THAT STAY SHARP Nailmaker is set up for nails and fingertips, not faces or scenery. On iPhones that support it, 0.5x is a true macro lens, so you can get right up close and keep every detail crisp — the shine on the gel, the line of the cuticle, the tiny strokes in the art. Tap to lock focus straight onto the nails. Drag up or down to set the brightness. Lock focus and exposure when you want a whole set of shots to match. And since you're usually steadying a hand with your other hand, you can fire the shutter with a volume button too.

THE EDITS THAT ACTUALLY MATTER No endless menus — just the tools a nail photo needs. Swap a messy background for a clean studio color, or cut it out completely. Kill the yellow from salon lighting and get the polish color true again. Then nudge brightness, shadows, contrast, saturation, and sharpness until it looks the way it did in real life. Crop, straighten, rotate, and flip. Slide left and right to compare before and after. Every photo keeps its own edits while you work, so you can jump between shots in a set and never lose a thing.

PUT YOUR NAME ON EVERY PHOTO Your work is your marketing, so brand it. Add your salon name as text — pick the font, the color, and the style: a soft shadow, a clean outline, or a solid label, with your own outline and label colors. Add your logo on top, then drag, resize, and rotate both wherever they sit best. Leave it on and every new photo gets branded the moment you shoot it. Turn it off any time. Clear the text and you export with no watermark at all — you're always in control.

A FEW MORE THINGS Import shots straight from your library or take new ones. Move through a strip of photos and edit them one at a time. Combine a few into a clean before-and-after collage that shows off the transformation — made for posts and stories.

BUILT FOR A BUSY SALON DAY Between clients there's no time to fiddle. Shoot a set, give them the same clean look, drop your name on them, and save — then get back to the chair. When every photo carries the same lighting, the same background, and the same watermark, your feed starts to look like one studio instead of ten different phones. That consistency is what makes a page look professional, and it's the whole reason Nailmaker exists.

PRIVATE BY DEFAULT, NOT AS A SETTING Everything happens on your phone. There's no account and no sign-in — open the app and it just works. No ads, no tracking, no analytics, and no servers anywhere. Your photos never leave your device unless you share them yourself. When you save, Nailmaker adds a brand-new copy to your library; it never reads, changes, or deletes the photos you already have.

There's nothing to sign up for and nothing to learn — open it, point it at a hand, and you'll get the idea in about a minute. It's free to try, so you can shoot a real set today and see the difference before you decide anything.

Nailmaker needs an iPhone on iOS 17 or later, and it's at its best on models with a macro camera. This is only the beginning. We're building the rest alongside working nail techs — the next tools are already in the works — so if there's something your photos need, email us and it goes on the list.
