Downsizer makes photos and videos smaller — in dimensions, in file size, or both. Pick one photo or a batch, choose a size, set the quality or a maximum file size, and save. That's it.

COMPRESS VIDEOS Videos are often the biggest files on your iPhone or iPad. Pick one, choose a resolution (original, 1080p, 720p, or 480p), then either drag the quality slider or set a target size — "fit under 25 MB" — and Downsizer computes the right bitrate. The size estimate is instant, HDR videos keep their colors, audio can be removed, and output is HEVC (smallest) or H.264 (most compatible).

Your first video export is free. After that, the full video editor and its live size estimate remain available, while saving or sharing additional videos requires the one-time Downsizer Pro purchase.

BATCH RESIZE WITHOUT STRETCHING Apply one percentage, DPI, format, and compression quality to every selected photo. Each image scales relative to its own original dimensions, so mixed portrait and landscape photos keep their proportions automatically.

FIT UNDER A FILE-SIZE LIMIT Choose File Size and enter the maximum for each photo — 500 KB, 1 MB, 2 MB, 5 MB, or your own value. Downsizer finds the highest fitting quality for JPEG, HEIC, or WebP. It preserves your selected dimensions whenever possible and can reduce dimensions only when quality alone cannot meet the limit. Every photo in a batch is checked individually, and this workflow is available in both the free version and Downsizer Pro.

SEE THE FILE SIZE BEFORE YOU SAVE The compression preview shows the estimated output size as you adjust quality or set a maximum. Before export, Downsizer clearly confirms whether every photo fits beneath the selected limit.

SAVE OR SHARE Save the full batch straight to your photo library, or share all resized files together to Mail, Messages, Files, AirDrop, and more. You can also select photos in Apple Photos, tap Share, and choose Add to Downsizer. After the extension finishes importing, it asks the active iOS share scene to open Downsizer with the full batch. Open in Downsizer is also available from apps that support direct document handoff. After every new copy saves successfully, Downsizer can delete the originals with one iOS confirmation — including photos sent from other apps, which are matched back to your library automatically and verified visually before anything is removed.

KEEP PHOTO DETAILS Resized photos retain supported metadata from the originals, including capture date, camera details, captions, copyright information, and embedded location. Downsizer updates the dimensions and orientation fields and keeps each photo's original DPI; only cm/inch exports write the DPI you chose, since it defines the print size.
