NOWHERE, read differently, becomes NOW HERE.

NowHere is two maps for people without religion. NowHere is a project to build the infrastructure for living without religion.

■ The map of belonging: where you are Open the app and you see the Earth at night. Every small light on it is a real person. You can light your own. The number you see is how many people have actually lit a light here. You can also see the count for each country.

■ Anyone there? Tap "Anyone there?" and, for five minutes, everyone in the world sees an "I'm here" button. Each answer sends a light straight up from the map. No chat. Just the light.

■ Pass the light on Share a picture of your light together with your invite link. When someone lights theirs through your invite, they count as a light that followed from yours.

■ The map of life: how to go on A guide for people who want a funeral with little or no religion in it. It covers the decisions you face when someone close to you dies, the legal limits, and what things cost, with sources for everything. Japan, the United States, France, and the United Kingdom (England & Wales). It ships inside the app, so you can read it without a connection. There is also a list of things you can decide while you are still alive.

■ Privacy

• No account. No email, no phone number
• No GPS. Only the country or region you choose is stored
• Your light sits at a random spot inside that country
• Don't want to name a country? Choose "Somewhere on Earth"
• You can put your light out at any time. It leaves the count too

At night, when you can't sleep. When you feel alone. Somewhere on Earth, someone opened this app just like you did. You can see their light.
