No account, no server, no tracking: by default, your dictation goes nowhere. For mixed languages and technical vocabulary there's optional cloud recognition with your own key; for cleanup without Apple Intelligence, your existing ChatGPT subscription — both clearly labeled.

The Klartext keyboard is deliberately not a second typing keyboard — it's a lean dictation panel: a big mic, space, delete, return, and (with AI cleanup active) your mode right on the keyboard: Message · Email · Note · AI prompt · your own modes.

DICTATION THAT DOESN'T CUT OFF Unlike built-in dictation, recording keeps running when you switch apps: the keyboard is just the display, the mic lives in the main app. Look something up, switch apps, come back, tap stop — the text is in your field. And no word gets lost: recordings stay on your device for up to 24 hours — listen again or re-transcribe. Can be turned off.
