Maestro Snap

Maestro Snap began with a very human problem: the light switch was all the way over there, and I was all the way over here.

So I taught my Apple Watch to do the walking. Point your arm at a lamp, like you're showing it to a friend, and snap your fingers. The lamp obeys. No phone, no hub gymnastics, no shouting at a speaker that answers from the wrong room. Just you, casually rearranging the physical world with your fingers.

Point. Snap. Magic.

HOW THE MAGIC WORKS Your watch already knows which way your arm is pointing. Maestro learns where your things are: you "paint" a device by pointing at it for a few seconds while wandering a little, and your wrist taps along while it learns. From then on, a snap is a toggle.

It keeps learning. Correct it once when it guesses wrong and that mistake gets rarer. Rooms change on their own as you walk around, so the lamp you meant is the lamp you get.

Snapping awkward with your watch hand? Switch the trigger to Tap instead. Same magic, quieter.
