Hoops Berlin is a free community app for outdoor basketball in Germany (Berlin-focused). Users find public basketball courts on a map (data from OpenStreetMap), check in at a court ("I'm playing here"), see who is playing where, add friends, chat 1:1, rate courts and upload court photos. No ads, no purchases, no monetization.

DEMO ACCOUNT: Use the provided credentials (email + password sign-in). The account is pre-populated: it has friends, past check-ins, XP and sees live sample data. The app is Berlin-focused – the map opens on Berlin, where most courts and activity are.

SIGN IN WITH APPLE: Available on the sign-in screen alongside email/password, magic link and Google (Guideline 4.8).

LOCATION: Optional, foreground-only ("When in Use"). Used solely to show the user's position on the court map and courts nearby. Check-ins are NOT GPS-based – the user manually picks a court and a time window. The app is fully usable if location is denied (the map simply doesn't center on the user).

USER-GENERATED CONTENT (Guideline 1.2): Photos, reviews, profiles and chat messages can all be reported in-app (report buttons on each content type; reports are rate-limited and reviewed promptly). Users can block other users (enforced server-side). Objectionable content is removed by moderation. Contact info is published in the app (legal screens) and on our website.

ACCOUNT DELETION (Guideline 5.1.1(v)): In-app under Profile -> Delete account (removes profile, check-ins, reviews, photos, friendships, messages and storage files). AGE RATING: Minimum age 16+, enforced by an age confirmation gate at signup; rating manually set to 16+ accordingly.

PUSH NOTIFICATIONS: Opt-in only, shown after a value-moment primer (first check-in). Quiet hours and daily caps are enforced server-side.

PRIVACY: Backend is Supabase (EU/Ireland). First-party, pseudonymous product analytics in our own database with an in-app opt-out; no third-party ad SDKs, no tracking.
