Watch the northern lights sway over Iceland's black-sand coast. Listen to a fire crackle softly in a warm room in Tromsø, Norway. Or drift off on a high floor above Manhattan at 2 a.m., fog thick outside the glass, the lights turned low.

Set a sleep timer and close your eyes. The ambience keeps playing after the screen goes dark, and when time is up it fades out slowly — it never cuts off and startles you awake.

FOCUS SOMEWHERE ELSE

Listen to the tide roll into the cliffs of Big Sur, hear the wind cross a wheat field in Tuscany, or take a seat in a Kyoto garden in summer — and keep an unbroken stretch of time for work, reading, or meditation.

The ambience screens out the noise around you. You can also play your own music, podcasts, or audiobooks alongside it, giving what you already love a new sense of space.

From rainy-night Tokyo, a Kyoto garden, the auroras of Iceland and 2 a.m. Manhattan, to the Big Sur coast, the wheat fields of Tuscany, the Bosphorus at dusk and Sydney Harbour — Anook gathers 18 ambient scenes across 12 countries.

Each scene is a specific place, with its own hour, weather, living footage and ambient sound. You're not choosing "rain sounds," "ocean waves," or "forest" — you're choosing where to spend tonight.

Spin the globe, choose a destination — and the picture doesn't simply cut.

You dive in from far above, a local greeting surfaces in the dark, and then the scene and its sound slowly open up. A moment ago you were at your desk or in your bedroom; now there's somewhere else outside the window.

Entering and leaving keep the same soft, unhurried rhythm, so every switch feels less like changing screens — and more like a real departure, and a real arrival.

SPATIAL AUDIO

Every scene is mixed from layers of ambient sound: rain, wind, waves, birdsong, fire, and the murmur of a distant city, each placed at its own direction and distance.

Put on headphones, and sounds arrive from beside you, far away, or behind you. You can also reposition each source and balance its volume yourself.
