Nearer: A Signal for Two

For the things that are hard to say out loud. One quiet signal — a feeling, not a lecture — shown when the moment's right, and closed only when you've both talked.

Some things are hard to say out loud — and even harder to type.

Nearer is a quieter way to tell the person you love that there's something the two of you should talk about. No message box. No paragraph fired off mid-argument. Just one signal — a feeling, and how much it weighs — sent to one person. They see it a little later, once the first wave has passed. And it clears only when you've both marked that you actually talked.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Tap "Something to say." Choose how urgent it is and which feeling is underneath — and nothing else. There are no words to twist, and nothing to escalate.

2. Your partner sees it a little later. A built-in delay (around 90 minutes) gives the heat time to settle, so the signal lands as an invitation instead of an ambush.

3. You talk — for real, out loud. Then you each mark "we talked." The signal only closes when both of you do. No one closes it for the other.

WHY IT'S BUILT THIS WAY

Nearer is deliberately small. There's no chat inside it, because the whole point is to move you toward a real conversation, not replace it with more typing. There's no free text, because "I have something to say" is safer than an accusatory wall written in the heat of the moment. And closure is mutual by design — a signal can't be used to get the last word or quietly keep score.

WHAT NEARER IS NOT

It isn't a mood tracker or a daily-check-in app. You won't log your feelings every morning or chase a streak. Nearer stays silent until one of you actually has something to say — then it does one thing, and does it well.
