The thoughts a book gives you deserve somewhere to live. Write in the margins, show one to a friend, or leave one in the Library. No feed, no followers, nothing counted.

You finish a book, you have something to say about it, and a week later it is gone.

Marginal is where it goes instead. Keep a shelf of what you are reading, have read, or mean to read. Write in the margins of the book in front of you, in five kinds of margin, each with a word limit, because margin space was always finite and every word had to earn its place.

Then do one of two things with what you wrote, or neither. Show a margin to a friend, the way you would hand someone a book with a passage marked. Or leave one in the Library, a members-only room organised by book, where readers find each other through what they wrote about the same book.

Months and years later, the book comes back to you. Six months after you finish one, then at two years, at five, and every five years after that, Marginal shows you what you wrote about it. You can add to it, or just read it and close the app.

There is no scoreboard. No follower counts, no likes, no view counts, nothing ranked by popularity. A published margin stands under your pen name, dated, beside what other members wrote about the same book, and nothing is counted underneath it.

Marginal is not a reading tracker and it is not a review platform. It is for anyone who has ever finished a book and had something to say about it.

Reading the Library and publishing to it are free, deliberately. Premium adds all five kinds of margin, up to 50 connections, and Bookmarks for keeping the margins that stayed with you.

Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase. Subscriptions renew automatically unless auto renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel your subscription in your App Store account settings at any time.
