Urban Passport is one game with two halves. From the sofa, you pick a city and answer a short clue about a real place. Right or wrong, the story teaches you something true — and the place becomes a card in your collection. That is the homework nobody minds doing.

Then you go there. No turn-by-turn line telling you where to put your feet. You get a bearing and a distance — "40 m · north-east" — and finding the place is part of the game. Step inside the spot's radius and the stamp unlocks. It lands in your passport and it stays there.

BE YOUR OWN GUIDE Every spot carries a real story, checked before it ships: street art and who painted it, architecture and why it looks like that, harbour history, hidden corners locals walk past. Read it before you travel, or read it standing right in front of the thing. Either way you arrive knowing something.

PICK YOUR LENS Choose the categories you actually care about. Every category is its own collection and its own guide, so two people can walk the same city and come home with different passports.

A PASSPORT THAT IS YOURS Stamps, cards and completed categories live in one profile that follows you from city to city. Finish a category and the page closes with a card you earned rather than bought.

TOGETHER, WITHOUT BEING TRACKED Add friends with a QR or a short code. They see what you collect — never where you are right now. Stamp the same place as a friend and you both earn a shared Duo card.

ONE CODE, EVERYONE PLAYS Start a game and share a single code. Friends, a family, a class or a hostel group join and play the same city live, on their own phones. Guests never pay and need no separate account — the host sets the game up. Group sizes run from a few friends up to large organised events.

BUILD YOUR OWN TOUR Hosts can put together their own route in the Urban Passport host portal — your spots, your questions, your order — and then play it as a real game with the group in the app. Class trips, team days, family weekends, city rallies.

WHAT IT COSTS Your first city is free, all of it. Studying from home is always free, everywhere — even in cities you have not opened yet. There is no subscription. Additional cities and larger group games are one-off purchases inside the app.

Hamburg is live now, and new cities keep arriving.

Location is used to verify you are at a place when you stamp it. Nothing scans in the background, and no server keeps a history of where you have been.
