YouTube is the best and most complete video platform there is — millions of wonderful videos kids can learn from and love. But as a parent I was always worried: what exactly are my kids watching? And for how long? I wanted to give them the freedom to explore — but safely. That is what KidsTube does: it gives parents a tool to keep kids safe, and gives kids a way to explore videos on their own, inside the boundaries you set.

OUR PHILOSOPHY

YouTube is out there, and in most families kids already have access to it. Banning it rarely works — balancing it does. KidsTube lets you decide how open or how strict your child's experience is, and then holds that line calmly and consistently.

No algorithm. No recommendations rabbit hole. No comments. The home screen shows a limited number of videos — a calm, finite shelf, not an infinite feed. When the videos end, they end.

HOW IT WORKS

Create a child profile, set the filters and the screen-time limits — done. No account needed.

• Two modes per child: Strict (only channels you approved, no search) or Flexible (filtered search and discovery inside your guardrails)
• Approve channels by name, @handle or URL; block channels outright
• Age-appropriate filtering built in: an always-on safety layer blocks explicit, violent, hateful and drug-related content for every age — and hides horror, gambling and mature gaming under 13, brainrot and clickbait under 8
• Add your own keyword filters and a video-length filter on top
• Kids can request a channel — nothing appears until you approve it
• Daily limits, session limits with enforced breaks, allowed hours — hard stops, not gentle nudges (a friendly tortoise breaks the news)
