Hallowed Habits

You know how it goes. The alarm goes off, you reach for your phone, and somehow you're three videos deep before you've said one word to God.

Hallowed Habits gets in the way of that. On purpose.

It locks the apps you choose each morning until you've given God the first few minutes of your day, three small things, spoken out loud. Then the day is yours.

THE MORNING LOCK When your day begins, the apps you pick stay gently locked until you've done three quick things out loud. It isn't there to punish you, it's there to protect the most important minutes of your day. Speak them, and your apps open. Only now the day started with God instead of the feed.

Three things, out loud:

1 — DECLARE Speak a short declaration over your day. Anyone can narrate their stress and worst-case fears; real intention is choosing to say what's good, what's true, and what you're trusting God for, before the day has its say. Speak hope out loud, and something in you rises to meet it.

2 — SPEAK THE WORD Say a verse of Scripture aloud. Not skimmed — said. Slow down enough to actually hear it, and it stops being words on a screen and starts shaping how you think. What you speak, you begin to carry, and it steadies you long after the morning is over.

3 — PRAY Close in gratitude. Thanking God before anything's even gone right turns your eyes from what's missing to what you've already been given. Worry shrinks in the light of thanksgiving, and you walk into the day fuller and steadier.

Just one small routine, done first: your voice given to God before it's given to the feed.

Give it a couple of weeks. I think you'll notice the difference, and not just in your mornings.
