You can play your scales. You know your chord shapes. But ask yourself what note sits under your finger on the fifth string, seventh fret, and the answer doesn't come instantly. That hesitation is the plateau most self-taught guitarists hit. Songs and box patterns get memorised, but the actual notes on the neck never do. And without them, three things stay just out of reach: improvising over changes, transposing a song into any key, and working out music by ear.

This is a focused trainer built to close that exact gap. A random position lights up on the neck, you name the note, and it measures not just whether you got it right, but how fast. Every answer feeds a colour-coded mastery map of all 144 positions on the fretboard, so instead of practising blindly, you can see precisely where your recall is solid and where it falls apart string by string, fret by fret.

From there, practice gets targeted. Sessions can zero in on your weakest positions, so your time goes straight to what you don't know yet. A daily streak and a simple progress dashboard pull you back for short, five-minute reps instead of marathon sessions you'll skip.

• Note identification and timed speed drills that build instant recall • Interval training to connect notes for soloing and chord building • Scale and chord visualisers that light up every position on the neck • Standard, alternate, and custom tunings, with the board relabelled automatically

Everything works fully offline: no account, no login, no sign-up wall. Light and dark themes keep it comfortable wherever you play, and subtle haptic feedback confirms right and wrong so you can stay eyes-down on the strings. An optional daily reminder helps protect your streak, and nothing is locked behind a wall of ads.

The core drills, streaks, and standard tuning are free to use for as long as you like.
