Flashcards, spaced repetition
Flick a card away and it comes back at the exact moment you'd have forgotten it. That timing is the whole trick. Five quiet minutes a day, and it stays learned.
Flickdeck is a simple but powerful flashcard app built around one motion: the flick.
Flip a card, then flick it in the direction that says how well you knew it. Left for Forgot, right for Good, up for Easy, down for Hard. It feels like cardstock leaving your hand.
Underneath, the schedule is run by FSRS, a modern spaced-repetition algorithm. Each card comes back right around the moment you'd have forgotten it, which is when reviewing does the most good. You never decide what to study; the deck already knows.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Flick to rate. Four directions, each with a colored glow so you can see the call before you commit. Prefer buttons? They're always there.
• Test what's due. A short daily session of exactly the cards that are ready, and nothing more.
• Review anytime. Drill a whole deck the night before something matters. Cramming never fools your real schedule.
• Ask Siri. 'Check what's due in Flickdeck' gets you the count and the deck without opening the app. It sits in Spotlight and Shortcuts too.
• Build rich cards. Text, photos, and audio on either side, so a card can show a face, play a phrase, or both.
• Hear it spoken. A tap reads any card aloud, each side in its own language. A French front sounds French; its English back sounds English.
• Quiz both directions. One switch adds the reverse card, scheduled on its own so your daily load doesn't double.
• Glance at the widget. Today's due count and the deck that needs you, right on your home screen.
• One quiet reminder. A single notification a day at most, and none when nothing is due.
• Watch your progress. Plain stats on what you've reviewed and what's ahead.
KNOW IT BY A DATE
Most flashcard apps only know "forever." Flickdeck can also work backward from a date. Tell a deck when the exam is and it paces new cards so the load stays even and keeps every card coming back before the deadline. If the timeline won't work, it says so early instead of letting you find out in the last week. When the date passes, one tap switches the deck to maintenance so what you learned stays learned.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics. Everything stays on your device. The privacy label reads "Data Not Collected" because there is nothing to collect.
PAY ONCE
No subscription and nothing for sale inside the app. Your decks are files you own: export a full backup with progress intact, or share a single deck over AirDrop or Messages. A friend's copy starts fresh, and tapping it opens straight into Flickdeck.
Most days this takes about five minutes. That's the point.
Flick it to remember it.
