Drone Wheel

Drone Wheel is a looping studio built on a wheel. Four decks share one clock: hold a perfectly-tuned drone, finger-drum a beat, chop a sample, or record straight from your mic. Loop each one, launch them as clips, mix them together, and print the take.

It still does the simple thing perfectly. Tap a key and it holds a clean, in-tune tone for as long as you like — a rock-solid reference for tuning, ear training, and intonation. Everything else is what you can build on top of that.

THE DECKS • DRONE — a pure, always-in-tune drone in any of the 12 keys. Chords, inversions, and free poly stacking. Warm synth waveforms, evolving texture pads, and rich instrument tones • DRUM — twelve pads on the wheel. Finger-drum a groove, choose the drum in each slot, and pitch the whole wheel up or down • SAMPLE — load a sound and play it across the wheel, pitched to the key you're in • INPUT — plug in a mic or an interface and it becomes a deck like any other

LOOP AND LAUNCH • Record a loop on any deck, in time, with a count-in • Overdub onto a running loop — quantized to the grid you choose, or off the grid entirely • Every loop becomes a clip in the master section. Launch, stop, and swap them on the bar • Fire a whole row at once to change section • Loops follow the master tempo. Lock the pitch if you'd rather they didn't

MIX AND FINISH • A real mixer: per-channel faders, level meters, clip indicators • Reverb, delay, and EQ, in a chain you can reorder per channel • Record the session and export it — full mix or separate stems • Projects hold everything: your loops, drums, sounds, tempo, mix, and effects
