Features & Capabilities

No more "I don't know, where do you wanna eat?". Friends spend conviction points on the restaurants they care about, ending the great dinner debate once and for all!

Have you and your friends ever been stuck in a parking lot for an hour trying to decide where to eat? With YummyJury, you'll all be on your way to a restaurant within 5 minutes!

Here's how it works. One friend creates a session, shares a 5-digit code, and your group becomes a jury. Before the vote, each juror picks the cuisines they're in the mood for and notes any dietary restrictions, which brings up a list of restaurants nearby that fairly reflects everyone's preferences. Then, each juror gets conviction points to spend on the restaurants they actually care about. Want pizza? Stack five points on that pizza place. Open to anything? Spread your points thin. The restaurant that gets the most amount of points is the one you'll end up at for dinner! It's a win!

No more texting around in circles, no more "literally anywhere is fine," no more listening to that group leader everyone secretly hates. Everyone will have a say on where to eat without arguing, and your lunch or dinner plans will be solved with a couple of quick taps.

— WHY CONVICTION VOTING WORKS —

Traditional polls let everyone vote for one option, and the winner is whatever got the most votes. That's not how dinner actually works. Some friends have a strong opinion; some genuinely don't care. Conviction voting captures both. When you spend five points on Thai, you're saying, "I really want this." When you spread your points across five places, you're saying, "I'm flexible." The jury aggregates how much each option matters to each person, and not just who voted for what.

The result is usually a restaurant nobody objected to AND that someone is excited about, which is the actual goal.

— FEATURES —

  • Real restaurants near your location, with photos, hours, ratings, and direct links
  • Set how far you're willing to travel
  • Allergen warnings on cards so the jury can avoid issues (always confirm with the restaurant)
  • Solo mode, where you can browse nearby restaurants according to your preferences, without a jury.
  • Tiebreaker rounds for the truly indecisive juries
  • Customizable avatars so your friends know which juror is which
  • A judge mascot named Patty who keeps order in the court

— PRIVACY —

YummyJury doesn't have accounts, signups, or passwords. We don't sell your data or don't track you across apps. Your votes are private, and only the aggregate result is revealed. Everything we collect is detailed in our privacy policy.

— A NOTE ON ALLERGENS —

YummyJury surfaces allergen and dietary information as warnings, never as guarantees. Restaurant data comes from third parties and may be incomplete. Always confirm allergen safety directly with the restaurant.

— WHO IT'S FOR —

Friend groups are arguing about dinner. Couples who are indecisive. Office teams are trying to pick lunch. Anyone who's ever said "I don't care, you pick" and didn't really mean it.

And if you just moved to the city by yourself, our 'solo' mode allows you to discover nearby places that match your cuisine and dietary preferences, all in two or three taps!

Order in the court, it’s time to eat!

Really helpful app, the developer is really a food connoisseur. Truly takes a very strong background in restaurant scouting to develop an app of this caliber. Great work!
