The Diocese of Cochin has a rich history spanning over 465 years, rooted in faith, heritage, and service. From the arrival of the first Franciscan missionaries in 1500 to the establishment of the diocese under Pope Paul IV, Cochin holds the unique honour of being the cradle of Catholicism in India.
