MumoStream is a simple, self-hosted streaming app, born in Japan, that plays the files on your home media server exactly as they are.

• Using this app requires your own self-hosted MumoStream server (distributed free on the official site; details at the bottom of this page).

■ Your files, lined up just as you placed them Shows your server's folder structure exactly as it is. No complicated metadata setup, no library registration. Because your files appear just as you put them, even first-time users can find their way around with ease. Switch between list and grid view with a single tap.

■ Play any format, as-is MP4 streams directly. Formats the iPhone struggles with—MKV, HEVC, VP9 and more—are automatically converted to HLS by the server and delivered to you. No need to worry about formats. Just pick what you placed. Switching between multiple subtitle and audio tracks is supported too.
