Wet Bulb Temperature measures humid-heat conditions, not just air temperature. It tells you how well your body can cool through sweat evaporation.

Our core body temperature is around 36°C / 96.8°F. If you are outdoors and active, a Wet Bulb above 30°C / 86°F can become a health risk, because cooling through sweat becomes difficult, and the body overheats.

THE OUTDOOR READING, FRONT AND CENTRE Wet Bulb is usually read off instruments in the field, but can also be worked out from weather data.

Wet Bulb Globe Temperature (WBGT) is calculated in the app from air temperature, humidity, sun, and wind. Calculations follow the US National Weather Service's forecast method: a psychrometric solve for Wet Bulb, and the Dimiceli and Piltz globe model. This reading is useful when working, training, or walking outside, as a heat risk warning.

NOT THE SAME AS "FEELS LIKE" Feels Like answers: how hot does the air feel? Wet Bulb Globe answers: how much will sweating cool you? A Feels Like of 32°C / 90°F is just a warm day; a Wet Bulb Globe of 32°C / 90°F asks you to take care when active outside. They look alike on a mild day and pull far apart on a humid one.

HEAT ALERTS Enable Alerts to be notified when outdoor conditions climb, wherever you are. Silence those that would arrive between 10 PM and 7 AM, so you see them on the lock screen in the morning.
