CSUSM Cougar Safe

CSUSM Cougar Safe is the official public safety app of California State University San Marcos and integrates with CSUSM's emergency notification system. The app provides students, faculty and staff with safety, emergency preparedness, and support information for the CSUSM campus community. The app sends users important safety alerts and provides instant access to campus safety resources.

CSUSM Cougar Safe features include:

• Emergency Contacts: Contact University Police or the San Diego Sheriff’s Office in case of an emergency or a non-emergency concern.

• Safety Alerts: Receive instant notifications and instructions from the CSUSM emergency notification system when it is activated.

• Mobile Bluelight: Send your location to University Police in real time in case of a crisis.

• Friend Walk: Send your location to a friend through email or SMS on your device. Once the friend accepts the Friend Walk request, you pick your destination and start walking. Your friend tracks your location in real time to make sure you make it safely to your destination.

• I’m OK!: During an emergency, you can send your location and a message indicating you are “OK” to multiple recipients.

• Tip Reporting: Multiple ways to report safety, health and facility concerns directly to University Police, other campus departments or regional law enforcement.

• Safety Toolbox: Information and tools to enhance your safety.

• Emergency Procedures: Procedures that describe what to do in emergencies. This information can be accessed even when users aren’t connected to Wi-Fi or cellular data.

• Support Resources: Access links to safety, wellness and support resources for the CSUSM community.

• CSUSM Temecula: View campus maps and connect with CSUSM Temecula staff, campus security and the Riverside County Sheriff’s office.
