Enochian Chess is the four-handed game of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn — Air, Water, Fire, and Earth arrayed as warring godforms, bound in two alliances beneath a single quartered board.

This is chess as rite, not pastime: the die names which power may move, the Queen leaps unseen across two squares, kings fall without warning, and the corner thrones keep their own secrets.
