Local-first library discovery

songScout is designed around a private local index. Your local music files stay on your device, local folder, or NAS. Library indexing stores searchable metadata on device so songScout can browse and match your collection without re-reading the source every time.

Optional songScout AI enhancement can add richer discovery cues for public album, artist, and track metadata, such as genre, instrument, audiophile flag, sound trait, and discovery tag. These cues help your library become searchable by how the music listens, not only by how files are tagged. songScout does not upload your music files.

Playback and listening paths

Discovery should lead to listening. songScout connects guided journeys, local-library search, dynamic playlists, and playback so you can move from an idea to a queue. Use the Player to continue a listening session, revisit saved music, or open related artists and albums from your local library. DSD albums are labeled in the library and can be streamed to compatible local renderers; on-device playback uses formats supported by iOS.
