Most accountability apps turn your phone into a surveillance device. They screenshot your screen and email a report to a "partner." It's invasive, it's easy to get around, and the shame of it tends to drive the behavior further underground.

Reconnect starts from a different conviction. The instant you reach for explicit content is the most vulnerable, highest-intent moment you have. Victory over lust and temptation comes not from being watched, but from redirecting that desire towards connection with God and community.

THE MOMENT, IN FOUR BEATS When the urge hits, Reconnect gently locks the path and walks you through a short practice: • Breathe. A breath prayer to break the pull before a single word. • Be present. A few minutes in God's presence: scripture, a short prayer, or silence, for as long as you choose. • Name it. An honest check-in (Hungry, Angry, Lonely, Tired?) and a private journal, because a craving is usually a feeling in disguise. • Reach out. One tap to your person, with a warm "thinking of you, having a hard moment," never a confession.

You get your access back by doing the practice, not by being watched. The lockout is the consequence. The practice is the key.

PRIVACY IS THE PRODUCT No screenshots, ever. Detection runs on your device, so nothing about your browsing is sent anywhere. Your journal stays on your phone, for your eyes only. Reaching out to someone is opt-in, and it's framed as support, never as a report.

GRACE, NOT SHAME There's no alarm-red wall, no "BLOCKED," no clean-streak scoreboard. A relapse is met with grace. If a screen could make you feel watched or judged, we consider it a bug.

FOR THE PERSON WHO WANTS TO CHANGE Reconnect is a voluntary tool for Christians who want freedom from the temptation of explicit content and are choosing this for themselves. It is not a way to monitor someone against their will.

HONEST ABOUT WHAT A PHONE CAN DO We protect Safari deeply, with detection that runs on your device and a calm overlay when something explicit shows up. Beyond Safari, Reconnect blocks adult sites in every browser on your phone and steers other browsers back to Safari, where it can actually help. You can also set time limits on the apps that pull at you. On iOS 26, a built-in content filter quietly backs up our own list. We're still honest about the one thing no iPhone app can do: nothing can see inside another app's feed. We won't pretend otherwise, so we help you set limits there instead.

Reconnect doesn't try to be a perfect cage. It tries to make the moment you reach for explicit content the moment you reach for something better.
