Test and train your intuition — sense the hidden value before it's revealed.

Intuition Check is an iPhone app for testing and practicing intuition. You guess a hidden value — a card, a number or a picture — reveal it, and see whether you were right. Over many rounds it compares your hit rate with what pure chance would give. It can tell you whether your results depart from chance; it cannot tell you why.

HOW A ROUND WORKS Two modes, scored separately. In Passive intuition the value is chosen before you look and you try to read it. In Active intuition nothing is chosen until you reveal and you try to will a value into being. Three play styles: One by one, a value at a time; Quick pick, the set laid out as a grid with one correct cell per round; and Series, in Active intuition only — will one value, and one tap draws a run of up to 10 million random values to score against it.

WHAT YOU GUESS • Numbers • Playing Cards • Images — your own pictures from Photos, Camera or Files Four ready-made image sets are included: Zener Cards, Shapes, Colors, Rock Paper Scissors. Zodiac Signs is a one-time purchase. Each set keeps its own settings and statistics. An image set exports as a single .guesset file: send it by AirDrop, Mail or Messages, and the other person taps it to get their own copy.

PARTNER GAME Two iPhones with Wi-Fi on find each other in the Partner game view and connect. The same Wi-Fi network gives the steadiest link; without one, keep the phones close. One person picks, the other guesses; both phones show the result. Play with cards, numbers, or one of your image sets — the set is sent to the other phone for that game only. Partner rounds are not recorded in the statistics.

STATISTICS In One by one, rounds are recorded only while Guess tracking is on: Mark yourself after each reveal, or Enter your guess before revealing and the app scores it. Quick pick and Series always record. You see your hit rate beside the exact baseline for that pool size, and a verdict, from Consistent with chance to Far above or Far below chance, with the odds of such a result by chance. The verdict needs about 20 rounds; shorter runs vary too much. Also longest streaks, day-by-day and time-of-day trends, Passive against Active, and how often each value comes up, is picked, and is guessed right. Filter by period, mode, play style, guess set or state. A state bar notes how you are — Rested or Tired, Calm or Stressed, After coffee — and stamps it on the rounds that follow. By default statistics clear when you quit; Save statistics on device keeps them, and turning it off deletes what was saved.

SETTINGS Clear view hides every control; touch and hold anywhere to bring them back. Nearly every switcher and button on the main view can be turned off in Settings.

PRIVACY No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no analytics, no third-party code. Photos, settings and results stay on the phone. The partner game talks phone to phone on the local network only.

WHAT IT COSTS Free to download, with 1 hour of in-app time, counted only while the app is in use. If it runs out you can reset it for another hour, up to 3 times — 4 hours in all. After that one subscription, monthly or yearly, covers the whole app; the app shows each plan's price, and Apple asks you to confirm before anything is charged. Family Sharing for you and up to five family members, cancel any time.
