PromptClip is a local-first prompt management tool for saving, organizing, searching, and reusing the important prompts, thought fragments, and workflows that emerge from your AI conversations.

AI conversations are easily buried by new sessions, but truly valuable prompts shouldn't remain as one-off inputs. You can save frequently used prompts, writing templates, analytical frameworks, coding instructions, role configurations, and sparks of inspiration—so you can find them quickly, continue refining them, and use them again whenever needed.

No account required, no cloud database dependency. Content is saved as open Markdown files in a directory of your choice, making it easy to back up, migrate, and manage over the long term. You can select a directory within iCloud Drive to keep your data synced across multiple devices.

Data Export
Export data in common formats, allowing you to continue using it across different tools and workflows.

PromptClip saves content as open Markdown files. You can open, edit, back up, and migrate these files with any Markdown-compatible editor, and incorporate them into your own file management or note-taking system.

Local First

PromptClip prioritizes storing data on your device and in a location you choose. No account system, no cloud database dependency, and your prompts are never locked into a closed platform.

Your prompts are not just one-off inputs—they are personal AI assets that can be accumulated over time and continuously evolved.

Usage Tips:

1、If you choose a directory in iCloud Drive as your working directory, please enable the "Keep Downloaded" option for that directory in the Files app; otherwise, you will frequently experience delays while waiting for files to download.

2、You can use it in conjunction with Markdown knowledge management tools such as Obsidian. For example, create a prompts directory in Obsidian, then open it as a workspace using PromptClip.
