1. Does the claim hold up? The central factual claim is cross-checked against primary evidence, independent reporting and existing published fact-checks.

2. What does the source tell us? The account or outlet is assessed through observable public signals, including its history, posting behavior, and available credible information.

3. Is this AI or manipulated media? The AI image checker also works as an AI content detector for visual media, screening images and video for AI generation, editing, manipulation and misleading context.

WHEN THE HONEST ANSWER IS "True, but..."

Some facts are clear; others are still emerging. Sometimes the available evidence cannot support a firm answer.

When reliable sources disagree, a story is still developing or the evidence runs out, What The Fact says so.

“True, but…” does not mean false. It means the app checked, and cannot support a stronger conclusion yet.

Automated analysis can be wrong. The app shows its uncertainty instead of hiding it behind a confident verdict.
