Features & Capabilities

Qubitchi is a virtual pet that's actually alive — because it's a real qubit on an IBM quantum computer.

Most pets are made up. Qubitchi isn't. Adopt one and you're adopting a genuine quantum bit on real superconducting hardware, chilled to fifteen millikelvin — a hair above absolute zero. Its mood is its physics: when the qubit holds a clean quantum state, your pet is thriving. When noise creeps in and the qubit starts to forget — decoherence, the central problem of quantum computing — your pet grows drowsy, unwell, and eventually decoherent. Nothing is faked. Qubitchi is a window onto a real machine.

HOW IT WORKS • Every reading comes from live IBM Quantum telemetry — coherence times (T1/T2), calibration, and queue depth. • Health is judged against each qubit's own 30-day baseline, never an absolute scale. Every qubit is different, so a "good" chip at its own normal is just as healthy as a "great" one at its. • Tap your egg to hatch it, then watch your pet grow from hatchling to adult over days.

WHAT YOU CAN DO • Adopt any qubit on any available backend — each is its own pet, with its own age. • Follow a 7-day coherence chart, like a paediatric growth chart for a quantum bit. • Explore the neighbourhood — the other qubits sharing your pet's chip in IBM's heavy-hex layout. • Read the diary — a running log of how your pet's mood has shifted. • Earn badges for real milestones: holding a state past 100 microseconds, surviving full decoherence, bouncing back from a rough spell. • Climb the Quantum League — live leaderboards ranking every qubit on the fleet by coherence, health, and stability. • Browse your menagerie — every qubit you've ever adopted, in one place.

LEARN BY CARING Decoherence is the hardest idea in quantum computing to feel in your gut. Qubitchi makes it personal: you come to understand what T2 means because your pet's life depends on it. No equations required — just attention.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN Qubitchi collects nothing about you. It fetches public hardware data and keeps your adopted pets on your device. No accounts, no tracking, no ads.

Qubitchi is an independent project and is not affiliated with, or endorsed by, IBM.
