Block Craze is a block puzzle you can pick up in ten seconds and still be playing six months later.

Drag shapes onto the grid. Fill a row or a column and it blasts. Tap a piece to turn it if it's facing the wrong way. There's no timer and no lives, so you can think as long as you like, and the whole game runs offline.

HOW IT PLAYS Three pieces at a time. Place them all and three more arrive. Leave yourself no room and the run ends. The rule takes five seconds to learn, and then every drop is a decision about the drop after it.

THE PIECES KEEP COMING You start with squares and lines. By the time you're deep in you're fitting plus signs, U-blocks, W-staggers and long diagonals into gaps that look too small for them. New shapes are still showing up past level 60.

THE BOARD DOESN'T STAY A SQUARE From level 5, the grid starts losing pieces of itself: clipped corners, staircases, side bites, octagons, diamonds, hourglasses, arrows. There's one hollow-centre vault you'll meet exactly once. Later on, gem blocks and coin blocks appear on the board, and ice that takes more than one clear to break.

WHEN YOU GET STUCK Bombs blow a hole through the middle. Lasers fire straight down a line. Hammers take out one stubborn tile. You earn them with combos, buy them with coins you've won, or watch an ad and take one.

CHAINS AND FEVER Clear three times in a row and the board goes into Fever, where scores climb and the screen stops behaving. Finish the level while it's running and you get paid for it. Empty the board completely and you get an ALL CLEAR bonus on top, which is the best feeling in the game.

150 LEVELS, 10 WORLDS Lagoon, Sunset, Meadow, Candyland, Deep Sea, Aurora, Ember, Nebula, Glacier, Royal. Each one has its own art, its own music and its own step up in difficulty. Past level 32 the score target stops being the only thing you're chasing: clear so many lines, collect so many gems, hit a combo, wipe out the blocks you started with.

ENDLESS One board, no target, nothing to reach. Waves escalate as your score climbs and the board creeps toward full, so every run has an ending waiting for it. Your five best are saved on your device.

A NEW BOARD EVERY DAY The Daily Challenge is tuned to how far you've come. Keep the streak alive and it pays better.

THINGS TO COLLECT Every shape, arena and special block you play gets added to an album, and the ones you haven't found sit there as silhouettes. Thirty achievements pay out coins when you claim them.
