Gloaming computes a new sunset each evening, worked out on your device from two things: where you are, and what day it is. No camera saw this one. It has never existed, and it will not come again. The same place on the same day always gives the same sky, so a sky you keep opens unchanged.

The moon is in its true phase for the date, and sunset is timed to the minute where you stand. The light, the clouds, the horizon and the sea grow around those two facts.

— Today — It opens on tonight's sunset, wherever you are. Drag the timeline from golden hour into deep dusk and watch the color, cloud, and reflection shift; the true sunset time is marked quietly on the track. Long-press to keep a sky you love.

— Tonight, elsewhere — Every evening, eight other places are having their sunset too. Everyone sees the same eight, and you can open any of them and watch it happen, free. One of them is yours to keep each night.

— Collection — Every sky you keep carries the place and the date it was drawn from. See them as a grid, or as a map: a slowly turning night globe where every keep is a point of light, each in its own color.

— Widget and reminders — Today's sky on your home screen, refreshed daily. An optional reminder arrives shortly before sunset where you are — the real one for that day, so it moves as the year does — and tells you what tonight's sky is like.

— Seek — Any place on Earth, any day. Choose from the city list, turn a globe and drop a marker, or enter coordinates, then pick the date, past or future. The evening you were born, a new year over Tokyo, a day still to come.

— Studio — Make a sky of your own. The atelier composes one from palette, clouds, land, night, and camera — start from a mood (Afterglow, Firefall, Blue Hour, Borealis) or build from blank. Name it, keep it, and it joins your Creations.

The range. Twelve palettes — amber, magenta, peach, crimson, teal, lavender, wildfire, cobalt, pale blue, steel, polar, and the green flash. Five cloud regimes, from clear to overcast. Ten horizons: open sea, islands, hills, mountains, city, forest, mesa, grassland, karst, and dunes. Six seas, from glassy to rolling swell. And now and then an aurora — only at latitudes where one could really appear — with the moon running its true phases.
