Mate Matrimony is a Muslim community that gathers in person. We have served more than 25,000 members, and we host ticketed gatherings across the United States and Canada. This app is how our members attend them, and how we run the room on the night.

WE GATHER IN PERSON We have filled rooms in Dallas, Houston, Chicago, Detroit, Austin, Pittsburgh and Toronto, and we are booking more. The app opens on our calendar, so the first thing you see is where we have been and where we are going next.

ON THE NIGHT, YOUR PHONE IS YOUR SEAT Check in at the door with the pass in your ticket. Our staff print your name tag. From there the app follows the evening: the room's roster, the table you are seated at, the round you are on, and space for your own private notes. The host moves the evening forward from their phone and everyone's screen keeps up. At the end you get a stub of who you actually sat with.

GET TO KNOW PEOPLE PROPERLY, NOT QUICKLY Profiles are long form and about the things that actually tell you who someone is: practice, prayer, family, background and what they are looking for. Nothing is swiped. You read at your own pace, and you reach out when you mean it.

Mate has no chat, no inbox and no message threads. There is no messaging screen in the app at all. The only words you can send another member are one optional note attached to a connection request, capped at 250 characters. When two members accept each other, contact details are shared and the conversation continues the way our community has always done it, directly, with families involved.

FOR THE CELEBRATION ITSELF Our team vets local businesses by hand and lists them for members: venues, halal caterers, bridal, attire, decor, photography, planners, jewelry and invitations. Every listing shows the date we vetted it. Businesses cannot add themselves. You contact them directly by call, WhatsApp, email or a quote request.

EVERY MEMBER IS CHECKED BY A PERSON Everyone completes a government ID and liveness check, then waits for a member of our team to approve them by hand before they can browse. Photos are moderated. You can report or block anyone instantly, and we act on reports typically within 24 hours. We have zero tolerance for objectionable content or abusive behaviour.

MEMBERSHIP A subscription unlocks full access, including sending and accepting requests. Subscriptions renew automatically and are billed through your Apple ID; they continue unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel anytime in your App Store account settings. Event tickets are bought separately for a real world seat in a real room, and are not part of the subscription.

Mate did not start as an app. It started as a community, and real connections have already come from it. One member put it simply: "MATE wasn't just a WhatsApp group for me, it was where I found my person."
