Offline Reader, Tafsir & Athan
Offline Quran — 145 translations, 12 reciters, prayer times, tafsir. No ads, no accounts, no tracking. Read, listen, and pray, calmly.
The calm, private, offline Quran app.
QuranPath is built around one habit: reading every day. The full Quran — all 114 surahs of the Holy Quran (al-Quran al-Kareem) — is bundled inside the app, so the core reading experience works completely offline. No internet is needed to read, search, or bookmark.
Open it on a plane, in a waiting room, or in a quiet moment before bed — through Ramadan and every month after. The reading always works, with or without a signal.
Reading
- Arabic text in the Amiri typeface, rendered right-to-left at a size you control
- English translation beside every verse — Yusuf Ali (classic, 1934) or Saheeh International (contemporary, 1997), both bundled and offline
- Scholarly, diacriticised transliteration to support your Arabic pronunciation
- Your path: honest reading progress across all 30 juz — earned by real reading, not by scrolling
- Finish a surah and continue gently into the next; resume exactly where you left off, every time
- Bookmark any verse with a long-press; all bookmarks in one organized list
Recitation (optional, online)
- Twelve renowned reciters: AbdulBaset AbdulSamad, as-Sudais, al-Husary, Mishari Rashid al-Afasy, and more
- Verse-by-verse recitation with word-by-word highlighting, so you can follow each word as it is recited
- Audio streams over your connection when you choose to listen
- Provided through the Quran Foundation API — only fetched when you choose to listen
Study library (optional, online)
- Tafsir (commentary) to read a verse in context
- 145 translations in the world's languages — English, Urdu, French, Indonesian and more, cached on demand
- Switch the Arabic script between Uthmani and IndoPak
- Online content is clearly separated from the offline core — if you never open it, no network requests are made for it
Prayer times
- Calculated on your device from your location using the well-tested Adhan library
- After the first location read, daily times work offline
- Optional notifications for each prayer, with an optional adhan (athan) sound
- Optional 15-minute reminders before a prayer, each with a Dismiss action
Themes and search
- Four reading themes tuned to the day: Fajr, Day, Maghrib, and Night
- Universal search across Arabic, English, transliteration, and surah names or numbers
Privacy
- No accounts. No sign-up. No email required.
- No analytics, no advertising IDs, no third-party trackers
- Your bookmarks, reading position, and settings stay on your device
- Prayer-time location is used only on your device and is never transmitted to us
QuranPath is free. If it helps your practice, there are optional one-time tips through the App Store ($1.99 / $4.99 / $11.99). There is no subscription and no recurring charge, and nothing is locked behind a payment. Every feature is available to everyone for free.
What QuranPath does not have
It is a reader and a daily companion, not an everything-app. There is no Qibla compass, no hijri calendar, no social feed, and no accounts. The goal is to make the daily reading and prayer rhythm easy to keep, calmly and without clutter.
